I'm hoping to catch up with the Calendar over the weekend which will be dedicated to some major cleaning work. My apartment looks like a pigsty. Seriously. There won't be any before-after picture because the before is too embarrassing. But there will be after pics. This is my motivation for cleaning. Promising you the after pics now means I really have to clean up!
Mmm I wanted to make this a very funny entry but a friend of mine just made me cry (nothing bad, just very emotional), so this might end of not as funny as I had planned. Still, I want to post this tonight.
I might have mentioned before that I'm a geek ;) and I think that the shows I enjoy the most are pretty damn good shows with excellent writers, directors and actors. Now that doesn't mean I ONLY watch high quality TV. On the contrary: I'm quite infamous for watching some really crappy shows like Germany's Next Top Model, German Idol and Popstars. Casting shows FTW! :D
10 December was the finale of this year's Popstars season and - surprise surprise - my FAVORITE actually won. That just NEVER happens!! (You might remember my prolonged rants about my favorite Fady Maalouf losing to Thomas Godoj at German Idol um... last... year?)
So this calls for a celebration!!!

Eeek. Way behind with this thing. Dang.
So this is the entry for Wednesday. Oh yes... worked till 6:30pm, then talked a little with my boss before driving back to Co. I was starved but not in the mood for cooking and I thought that one of my former BE courses had a meet-up at a pub but I wasn't in the mood for eating there, so I headed into town, to our Christmas market and got something to eat there. Lots of food stuff there, I had a galette and for dessert I was set on getting a sweet crepes. The guy at the crepes stall was so weird. He seemed to speak almost no German, had no clue about what kinds of crepes they offer or about prizes. And he was super slow. The woman in front of me ordered a tomato-mozzarella crepes and only when he looked at the menu to check the prize, he realized that they offer 2 different tomato-mozzarella ones at 2 different prizes. I ordered mine with plum butter and he put Nutella on it. Then realized his mistake and looked at me puzzled. At this point I'd already waited for so long, so I said it doesn't matter, I take it anyway. (I'd been pondering the Nutella one anyway). The crepes was rather expensive too (they were "organic", if you ask me that was just an excuse to choose another Euro) and when I ate it the dough tasted like it was half raw and there was only a tiny bit of Nutella on them. Raw, tasteless crepes... yum... NOT!
After I had finished it, I felt a bit sick. It was freezing cold, not temperature wise but it was so dank and cold, it just went straight to my bones. All I wanted was get somewhere warm. I headed for the pub where my BE course wanted to meet and peeked into the windows. Suddenly I wasn't sure if I had the correct date and I couldn't see any of them sitting in there (big windows, small pub). Combined with my feeling slightly sick, I decided I had the wrong date and headed back for my car.
When I was home, I changed into my warmest pullover, got my Norwegian fur boots on and still sat there shivering for hours until I got a little warm. Also it seemed like the coldness had sucked all the energy out of my body, I was so tired. Of course then I popped my SPN season 1 DVDs into my player and watched through the first disc instead of going to bed. *rolls eyes at self*
Oh and I checked my emails and found out that the meet-up WAS this week and not next week. Obviously there's a 2nd floor at the pub and that is were they sat. And they seemed a little upset that I didn't come. Yay me. :(
Anyway. Before I almost food-poisoned myself with the crepes, I took some pictures. :)

I've started this journal in 2005. I've not always been very active. It took me quite a while to get into the whole blogging then. Then were phases when I was just too busy to write anything or I was distracted by other sites. Sometimes real life was just too crazy to put into words.
But no matter what happened or how active I was, there seems to be one constant: A post on 8 December. And it always had the same topic.
Mhmm... strange...
Why do you think is that?
8 December 2005
8 December 2006
8 December 2007
8 December 2008
And today? Could I break with a tradition? Naaaaahh....
( 8 December 2009 )
Happy Birthday, love! *blows kiss across pond*

Oups, so there, it happened. I'm behind on my advent calendar. Which only means that you get 2 entries for the price of one today!
Yesterday we had a small local party conference in BA, so I had to get up early (on a Sunday YIKES) only because some board members had asked to have the meeting at 10am instead of 1pm. Of course in the end, it turned out that 2/3s of the board was missing, including those who asked for the earlier time. Great.
Ah well, those things happen. I was just super tired because I'm not used to getting up early atm (no work in the morning). When I got home in the afternoon, I just wanted to collapse and sleep but I didn't want to be up all night. In the end I made it until 7:30, slept till midnight, got up for a few hours and went back to bed. That went well... just NOT!
Anyway, this lead to me missing to post yesterday and wish you all a happy Nikolaus day!
I owe links for old Advent calendars:
5 December 2007: Majandra Delfino
5 December 2008: Sawyer video (video might be down, not sure)
6 December 2007: Christian Kane
6 December 2008: Love actually music video (video is still available)
And now the new Advent calendar!
